I signed up for a six week collagraphy printmaking course with Laura Evans at her Furzebrook studio. Laura is an excellent teacher and gifted artist. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and challenging six weeks. I learnt so much about the process and its possibilities and have only just scratched the surface so to speak!
Therapeutic technique of collagraph printmaking
Laura can accommodate one and two day workshops, taster days and longer courses.
Collagraphy is fun, experimental and relaxing art form. Learn the process of building up a printing plate up with all sorts of materials, including fabrics, paper, seeds, salt. Whilst also cutting and ‘etching’ into the plate, creating beautiful prints on paper.
Learn under the expert guidance of Laura who has developed the technique to create stunning lamps alongside her beautiful prints.
Laura can also teach monoprinting, linocut and drypoint.
Laura is a great teacher who creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - she explains and demonstrates techniques throughout the process and shares ideas, I was very pleased with the work I made and although I wasn’t new to collagraph, I learnt such a lot from Laura and look forward to attending more workshops with her in the future.
