In 2015 after 10 years working in environmental archaeology Laura decided to undertake a workshop in printmaking: the technique of collagraph’s . She fell in love with it instantly and her passion was born.

In April 2016 she was awarded a bursary from Purbeck Arts Week, enabling to take her career forward, something for which she is very grateful for.

With an interest already in textiles and designers like William Morris, She set about trying to apply the technique collagraph to fabric. In 2017 after lots of experiments with inks, washing, drying times and lampshade making, she made her first shade. It was important the fabrics be lightfast and wash safe. She then went onto design a unique wooden base and column floor lamp. Thereabouts came an interest in sourcing local wood and creating unique lamp bases to go with her shades.
